East Caribbean dollar

The East Caribbean dollar is the currency of eight territories in the Caribbean Sea. Six of these are independent states, namely Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines. Two are UK overseas territories, namely Anguilla and Montserrat.

The East Caribbean dollar is issued by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank[?] based in St Kitts and Nevis. The bank was established by an agreement (the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Agreement) signed at Port-of-Spain on July 5, 1983, as successor to the Eastern Caribbean Currency Authority.

The ISO 4217 currency code for the East Caribbean dollar is XCD.

Exchange rate: East Caribbean dollars (EC$) per US$1 - 2.7000 (fixed rate since 1976)
