Dunmore County, Virgina

Dunmore County was formed in 1772 and named for the current colonial Governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore. Woodstock, Virginia was the county seat. Patriotic fervor caused it to be renamed in 1778 and since then it has been Shenandoah County, Virginia.
