Dover Beach

Dover Beach, by Matthew Arnold, is one of the most famous poems written in the English language. First published in 1867, in the collection, New Poems, it is relatively short at 39 lines, but has a memorable theme. It conveys the view that love is the strongest antidote to the uncertainties of the modern (Victorian) world.
