Disintegration

Disintegration was a May 1989 (see 1989 in music) album by Gothic rock band The Cure. It peaked at #12 on Billboard's Top 200 Album countdown.

Though The Cure's reputation as dark, moody and depressive, Disintegration has an undercurrent of joy. The tinkling keyboard riffs in songs like "Plainsong", "Pictures of You" and "Untitled" are uplifting and joyous, in spite of the grim and angst-ridden lyrics.
