Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 802 people, 369 households, and 195 families residing in the town. The population density is 202.4/km² (523.0/mi²). There are 1,280 housing units at an average density of 323.0/km² (834.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.64% White, 0.87% African American, 1.00% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.87% from other races, and 0.50% from two or more races. 10.35% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 369 households out of which 21.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.5% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 46.9% are non-families. 31.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
