Diacylglycerol

Diacylglycerol is a second messenger molecule made by phospholipase C (a membrane-bound enzyme), together with inositol triphosphate. Although inositol triphosphate diffuses into the cytosol, diacylglycerol stays close to the plasma membrane, due to its hydrophobic properties.
