Denali Borough, Alaska

Denali Borough is a borough located in the U.S. State of Alaska. As of 2000 the population of the borough was 1,893. The borough seat is Healy. The only incorporated place is Anderson.

Geography The borough has a total area of 33,086 km² (12,775 mi²). 33,021 km² (12,750 mi²) of it is land and 64 km² (25 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.19% water.

The highest point of North-America[?] is in this burrough: Mount McKinley 6,194 m.

Demographics As of 2000, there are 1,893 people, 785 households, and 452 families residing in the borough. The population density is 0/km² (0/mi²). There are 1,351 housing units at an average density of 0 persons/km² (0 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 85.74% White, 1.43% African American, 4.75% Native American, 1.53% Asian, 0.37% Pacific Islander, 0.95% from other races, and 5.23% from two or more races. 2.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 785 households out of which 31.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.40% are married couples living together, 4.50% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 42.30% are non-families. 35.00% of all households are made up of individuals and 1.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 3.03.

In the borough the population is spread out with 23.80% under the age of 18, 6.70% from 18 to 24, 36.80% from 25 to 44, 29.70% from 45 to 64, and 3.10% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 139.00 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 147.10 males.
