Deep End

A short-lived supergroup founded by guitarists[?] Pete Townshend of The Who and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd in 1984, following the breakups of both of their bands. The group also featured bassist Chucho Merchan[?], percussionist Jody Linscott[?], keyboardist John 'Rabbit' Bundrick[?], backing vocalists Billy Nichols[?], Cleveland Watkiss[?], and Chyna[?], and a five-piece brass band called The Kickhorns[?]. The group recorded the Gilmour solo album About Face[?] and the Townshend solo album White City: A Novel[?], and performed several charity concerts at London's Brixton Academy, which were later released as the album Deep End Live![?] Deep End broke up in 1986 when Pink Floyd reunited, although members of the band continued to perform and record live with Townshend, and were featured on the Who's 1989 reunion tour.
