Deceptive Records

Collapsed Lung, Elastica, Scarfo, Snuff, Earl Brutus, Jonathan Fire*Eater, Unun. The label ran for almost nine years from 1992 to 2001. Elastica gave them a number one album, and of course everyone knows Collapsed Lung's Eat My Goal from the Coca-Cola adverts. Formed by Steve Lamacq, Tony Smith and Alan James, although Lamacq left after the release of Elastica's first album to deflect accusations of partiality in his 'main' job of Evening Session presenter. You're not allowed to have vested interests when you work for the BBC, you know. Well, not that this ever stops Pete Tong, Dave Pearce, Timothy Westwood etc.
