DeForest Kelley

Jackson DeForest Kelley (1920-1999) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., so the southern accent he occasionally affected in the character of Star Trek's Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy was not a fake. Kelley had had a career playing minor characters, chiefly in Westerns - both in the movies and on TV - when he landed the part that he will forever be identified with as Star Trek's medical officer.
