David Gemmell

David Gemmell (born August 1, 1948) is a Times bestseller fantasy author.

He was born in West London in the summer of 1948. At the age of sixteen he was expelled from school for organizing a gambling syndicate. The then became a day laborer and a nightclub bouncer in Soho. He also worked as a freelance writer for the London Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, and, Daily Express.

He published his first novel, Legend[?], in 1984 which has remained in print. In 1986 he became a full-time writer and released Hero in the Shadows[?] in March of 2000.
