Data bank

In telecommunication, the term data bank has the following meanings:

1. A set of data related to a given subject and organized in such a way that it can be consulted by users.

2. A data repository accessible by local and remote users.

Note: A data bank may contain information on single or multiple subjects, may be organized in any rational manner, may contain more than one database, and may be geographically distributed. More than one data bank may be required to build a comprehensive database.
