Darlinghurst

Darlighurst is an inner eastern suburb of Sydney. Once a slum (in the 1920s) and a red-light prostitution district in recent years it has undergone urban renewal[?] and become a rather trendy, cosmopolitan and diverse area. It's inhabitants range from the junkies and the homeless to celebrities and the wealthy.

It was named after Elizabeth Darling, the wife of NSW Governor Ralph Darling.
