Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,821 people, 596 households, and 448 families residing in the city. The population density is 669.6/km² (1,728.7/mi²). There are 627 housing units at an average density of 230.6/km² (595.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 84.62% White, 0.77% African American, 1.81% Native American, 1.92% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 9.28% from other races, and 1.59% from two or more races. 20.21% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 596 households out of which 42.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.7% are married couples living together, 10.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% are non-families. 18.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
