Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 44.2 km² (17.1 mi²). 33.2 km² (12.8 mi²) of it is land and 11.0 km² (4.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 24.90% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 960 people, 414 households, and 303 families residing in the township. The population density is 28.9/km² (74.9/mi²). There are 1,051 housing units at an average density of 31.7/km² (82.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.02% White, 0.00% African American, 0.73% Native American, 0.62% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. 0.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 414 households out of which 25.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.5% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% are non-families. 23.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
