Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,752 people, 826 households, and 327 families residing in the town. The population density is 966.4/km² (2,506.4/mi²). There are 846 housing units at an average density of 466.6/km² (1,210.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 92.18% White, 4.05% African American, 0.51% Native American, 0.97% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.14% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. 3.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
