Crisis of 2020

The Crisis of 2020 is a conflict predicted by William Strauss[?] and Neil Howe[?] in their books Generations and Fourth Turning. It succeeds the Culture Wars era. Similar crisis eras of American history include the American Revolution, American Civil War, and the twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II.

Age Location in History:

  • The Baby boomers will be entering elderhood, fully assuming the role of elder stewards of society.
  • Generation X will be in midlife, applying survival skills learned in childhood to new problems.
  • Generation Y will be in rising adulthood.
  • A new generation (Generation Z?) will be entering childhood.
