Courtney Love

Courtney Love (born July 9, 1965) is a singer and guitarist for the band Hole and occasional actress. Courtney is the widow of Kurt Cobain (1967-1994), singer in the band Nirvana, with whom she has one daughter, Frances Bean.

In her early career Courtney modelled a 'baby doll' look, which she may or may not have ripped off of Kat Bjelland[?] of Babes in Toyland. Courtney's style has since evolved, and she has modelled for more sophisticated, designer labels.

Courtney attempted to begin a 'punk rock femme supergroup' during summer/autumn 2001 called Bastard. Currently 'Hole' is involved in a lawsuit.

Courtney Love has also been an outspoken critic of the music industry, which she says exploits musicians unfairly.

Courtney has recently (October 2001) performed in some solo shows as an opening act.

In the 1997 film The People vs. Larry Flynt, Love received considerable acclaim for her role as Flynt's wife, Althea.
