Coptic Christian

A Coptic Christian is one who follows the tenants of Coptic Christianity, the prevalent form of indigenous Christianity in Africa.

It is based on the preachings of Mark, author of one of the four Gospels. There are approximately 50 million Coptic Christians, primarily in Egypt and Ethiopia, but in significant numbers in Sudan and Israel, and in diaspora throughout the world.
