Constantijn Huygens

Constantijn Huygens was a Dutch poet 1596-1687 and the father of Christiaan Huygens.

He is often considered part of what is known as the Muiderkring a group of leading intellectuals around Hooft that regularly met the castle of Muiden near Amsterdam, but probably only visited on occasion.
