Computer networking device

Computer networking devices are units, that mediates data in a computer network. Computer networking devices are also called network equipment, Intermediate Systems (IS) or InterWorking Unit (IWU). Units which are the last receiver or generates data are called a host or a data terminal equipment.

Computer networking devices can be ISDN TA, modem, hub, switch, switching hub[?], router/gateway, multilayer switch, firewall or protocol converter[?].
