Comparative Historical

Two major approaches to historical method include comparisons of discrete units and incorporated comparisons. In the first method, units of comparison are considered relatively discrete and then compared. An example might be how Brazil and the USA have developed differently over time.

Incorporated comparison treats all units in relation, as mutally constructing conditional wholes. In this method, time becomes part of the theory.
