Committees of Correspondence

The Committees of Correspondence were organized in 1772 by Samuel Adams in Massachusetts to keep colonists informed of British actions against the colonies, and to plan a concerted response. Other colonies adopted the practice, and the system soon became one which united the 13 colonies.
