Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,162 people, 425 households, and 337 families residing in the township. The population density is 10.8/km² (28.0/mi²). There are 474 housing units at an average density of 4.4/km² (11.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.62% White, 0.00% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.52% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. 0.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 425 households out of which 35.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.8% are married couples living together, 6.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.7% are non-families. 17.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
