Clark County is a county located in the State of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population is 33,557. Its county seat is Neillsville6.

Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,157 km² (1,219 mi²). 3,148 km² (1,216 mi²) of it is land and 9 km² (3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.28% water.

Demographics As of the census1 of 2000, there are 33,557 people, 12,047 households, and 8,673 families residing in the county. The population density is 11/km² (28/mi²). There are 13,531 housing units at an average density of 4/km² (11/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 98.05% White, 0.13% African American, 0.48% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.56% from other races, and 0.47% from two or more races. 1.20% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 12,047 households out of which 35.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.20% are married couples living together, 6.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.00% are non-families. 23.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.60% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.27.

In the county, the population is spread out with 29.90% under the age of 18, 7.70% from 18 to 24, 26.20% from 25 to 44, 20.20% from 45 to 64, and 16.00% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 100.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.70 males.
