Chubby Checker

Chubby Checker was born Ernest Evans on October 3, 1941. He assumed his stage name in 1959 (after he had been compared to Fats Domino), and is best known as the musician who popularized a dance called "The Twist". In 1964 he married Catharina Lodders, who had been Miss World in 1962.
