Chinese Central Television

Chinese Central Television, or CCTV (中央电视台), is the major broadcast television network in the Mainland China. CCTV is run by the People's Republic of China central government and its editorial line is subject to the government control. Most of its programming, however, the mix of comedy and dramatic programming with little overt political content.

CCTV has thirteen different channels of programming content and competes with television stations run by local governments and foreign programming which can be readily received via satellite television.
