Charles Piazzi Smyth

Charles Piazzi Smyth (1819 - 1900), Astronomer Royal of Scotland 1846-1888

born Naples, son of astronomer Admiral William Henry Smyth.

Researched wet collodion process photography and infrared astronomy.

Notable for advancing the theory (in his book Our Inheritance in the Great Pyramid) that the Great Pyramid of Giza was a repository of prophecy, which could be revealed by measuring details of the structure.
