Champion

Champion is a 1949 film noir film which tells the story of a boxer who becomes the public's champion while destroying his private life. It stars Kirk Douglas, Marilyn Maxwell[?], Arthur Kennedy, Paul Stewart[?] and Ruth Roman[?].

The movie was adapted by Carl Foreman[?] from a story by Ring Lardner. It was directed by Mark Robson[?].

It won the Academy Award for Best Film Editing and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Kirk Douglas), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Arthur Kennedy), Best Cinematography, Black-and-White, Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay.
