Château d'If

The Château d'If is located in the Bay of Marseille[?]. It was built in 1524 as a defense against attacks from the sea. However, through the ages it was used as a feared prison for political and religious detainees. Famous people imprisoned there included the Count of Monte Cristo and Abbé Faria.
