Category 3 cable

Redirected from Cat-3

Category 3 cable, commonly known as Cat-3, is an unshielded twisted pair cable designed to reliably carry data up to 10Mbps. It was a popular cabling format in the early 1990s, but has since been almost entirely replaced by the very similar Cat-5, which offers higher top speeds.

See the Cat-5 entry for details.
