Castro Street

Castro Street is a 1966 short documentary film which uses the sounds and sights of a city street to tell the street's own story. There is no dialogue and no people, just traffic, buildings and signs. It was directed by Bruce Baillie[?].

The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.


Castro Street is a street in San Francisco, California, at the heart of that city's gay village. The immediate area surrounding the street is also commonly referred to as "the Castro".
