Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,015 people, 400 households, and 318 families residing in the town. The population density is 313.5/km² (812.2/mi²). There are 419 housing units at an average density of 129.4/km² (335.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 90.54% White, 8.47% African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. 1.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
