The Board of Longitude was a British Government body described in Dava Sobel's book: "Longitude. The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time" for a description of the Board, its charter, procedures, and members, which for a while included Sir Isaac Newton.
