Blue Angel (band)

Blue Angel was the name of the band (and its first album) featuring a pre-fame Cyndi Lauper. The band was popular on the New York rockabilly scene, and they did typical late 1970's style cover versions of pop standards (most notably a rendition of Mann/Veil's "I'm Gonna Be Strong," which Lauper would later re-recored as a solo artist.) The band's album did moderately well, and helped to launch lead singer Lauper into superstardom.
