Biruni

Abu Raihan Al-Biruni (973 - 1048) is considered by many to be one of the very greatest scientists of Islam who contributed greatly to the fields of mathematics and science.

He was born in Khwarazm in what is now known to be as Uzbekistan but was then in the Persian Empire.
