Billion Dollar Brain is another of Len Deighton's so-called "Harry Palmer" spy novels whose contents have been overtaken by modern political realities, but well worth reading.

The loathsome Pike brothers, the descriptions of Finland, and above all else the portrait of the failed agent Harvey Newbegin are outstanding.

"Billion Dollar Brain" was made into a spy movie[?] starring Michael Caine as Harry Palmer.
