Bierbeek is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Bierbeek proper, Korbeek-Lo[?], Lovenjoel[?] and Opvelp[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Bierbeek had a total population of 8,822 (4,384 males and 4,438 females). The total area is 38.88 km² which gives a population density of 226.90 inhabitants per km².
