Bialystok

Bialystok is the largest city (pop. 286,000 in 2001) in north-eastern Poland and the capital of Podlaskie[?] Voivodship. The city is somewhat famous as the birthplace of L. L. Zamenhof, creator of Esperanto.


"Max Bialystok" is one of the lead character's in Mel Brooks' farce Springtime for Hitler[?]
