Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar

Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (April 14, 1892-1956). Indian Jurist and politicien. He was one of the authors of the indian constitution.

He spent most of his life fighting against segregation of the "untouchables[?]", the lowest caste in indian society. Faced with resistance to his ideas from the indian elite, he converted to buddhism.
