Beverly is a city located in Burlington County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,661.

Geography Beverly is located at 40°3'47" North, 74°55'13" West (40.063011, -74.920177)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.97% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,661 people, 960 households, and 694 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,771.4/km² (4,608.2/mi²). There are 1,042 housing units at an average density of 693.7/km² (1,804.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 64.67% White, 28.75% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.43% from other races, and 4.13% from two or more races. 4.58% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 960 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.6% are married couples living together, 22.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 21.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.23.

In the city the population is spread out with 28.3% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.3 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $45,054, and the median income for a family is $49,519. Males have a median income of $35,954 versus $23,836 for females. The per capita income for the city is $17,760. 11.5% of the population and 8.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 16.9% are under the age of 18 and 6.9% are 65 or older.
