Bernard Cribbins

Bernard Cribbins (born December 29, 1928) is a British character actor and musical comedian. He was born in Oldham, Lancashire.

He released a number of comedy records, appeared in three Carry On films and was the narrator of the British animated children's TV series The Wombles. He also narrated a celebrated BBC radio adaptation of The Wind in the Willows.

He also appeared in Fawlty Towers as the spoon salesman Mr Hutchinson in the episode "The Hotel Inspectors" (1975).

In 2003 he played a dirty old man in the form of Wally Bannister in the long running soap, Coronation Street
