Battle of Bemis Heights

The Battle of Bemis Heights was the second major engagement in the Battle of Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War.

On October 7, 1777 British forces, under Lt. General John Burgoyne, failed in their attempt to dislodge the Americans, commanded by Horatio Gates, from the heights.

Casulties included the British General Simon Fraser.
