Geography Bald Head Island is located at 33°51'43" North, 77°59'24" West (33.861876, -77.990138)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 15.0 km² (5.8 mi²). 11.1 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is land and 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.73% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 173 people, 88 households, and 71 families residing in the village. The population density is 15.6/km² (40.3/mi²). There are 599 housing units at an average density of 53.9/km² (139.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.38% White, 2.89% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 88 households out of which 5.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.3% are married couples living together, 3.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.3% are non-families. 18.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
