Azimuth is the direction, in degrees, referenced to true north. In radio astronomy azimuth refers to the position that an antenna must be pointed to receive a satellite signal (compass direction). In aviation azimuth is used to determine headings or the direction in which to fly. The angular distance is measured in a clockwise direction.
