A genus of deer in the family Cervidae[?] native to the region of India.

The species are

Axis axis[?] - commonly known as the axis, the chital, or the spotted deer. It has been introduced in other areas and ranched as a favorite for hunters
Axis procinus[?] - the hog deer
Axis kuhli[?] - Kuhl's deer, or the Bawean deer
Axis calamianensis[?] - Calamian deer
