Austin Clarke

Austin Chesterfield Clarke (1934- ) is a Canadian novelist who lives in Toronto, Ontario. He was born and raised in Barbados, later returning to Canada where he attended the University of Toronto. His 2002 work The Polished Hoe won the Giller Prize.
