Athenaeus

Athenaeus (ca. 200) was a Greek writer, best remembered for his anthological[?] anecdote[?] collection Deipnosophistae[?] of ancient authors. He also wrote Deipnosophistai (The Learned Banquet), abook about two people discussing recipes.

He is also called Athenaeus of Naucratis, since he was born in Naucratis[?], Egypt. Little else is known about him, except from what his books tell.
