Asmodeus (supposedly meaning "creature of judgment") was a Persiandemon who was incorporated into Jewish folklore[?]. He is featured prominently in the Book of Tobit, where he is defeated by Tobias[?], a pious Jew who was under the protection of the archangel Raphael[?].
Asmodeus is the name by which he is mostly known in the translations of the Book of Tobit. For more information about this demon see also Asmodai.
