Arditti Quartet
Well known string quartet founded in 1974. Its members are:
- Irvine Arditti[?], Graeme Jennings[?] (violins)
- Ralf Ehlers[?] (viola)
- Rohan de Saram[?] (cello)
They are particularly associated with contemporary music, and have given many first performances. They have given world premieres of music by Harrison Birtwistle, John Cage, Elliot Carter[?], Sofia Gubaidalina[?], Gyorgy Ligeti, Conlon Nancarrow, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Iannis Xenakis.
